Glossier; A Product Round Up

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

When your babe of a best friend manages to get you both the most coveted makeup from New York, you have a freak out — I may or may not have burnt the tortilla I was cooking... we reached smoke alarm status.

Now, for those of you who have never herd of the brand Glossier, let me set a few things straight.

  1. Glossier is a company created by Emily Weiss who's focus is on striping down to the best possible ingredients, formulations and combination of products you could ever imagine. They call themselves " a beauty brand inspired by real life," which is exactly what they are
  2. They don't ship to Canada — which is why this is a monumental product round up. But fear not! They're working really hard on getting it to us

So you might be sitting here wondering why we are showing you products that you're going to fall in love with, when you can't actually order them for yourselves?! And our answer to you, is that a time will come, when Glossier gets these coveted cult products in our sweaty little palms and you need to be hyped as all get out,  and what better place to start that here!

Milky Jelly Cleanser: Conditioning face wash
        - Hypoallergenic
        - Soothing, moisturizing & conditioning
        - Fragrance free

I've been using this for about a week now, and its become a staple of my morning routine. It's super gentle and lightweight! I avoid using this at night though, because it doesn't give me that squeaky clean feel I need after wearing a full days worth of make up. There's no scent to this, and a little does go a really long way!
Milky Jelly Cleanser -$ 18 USD
Priming Moisturizer Rich: Luxurious face cream
     - Intense hydration
     - Non- greasy
     - Redness reducing

I've been on the serious hunt for the perfect moisturizer because my skin is super particular with any sort of cream — two weeks into using anything and I get breakouts everywhere. Although this is a thicker formulation, it absorbs into the skin so quickly and doesn't leave any greasy residue. It's also got the slightest lavender sent to it, which is so soothing for the skin. So far I've been using this both in the morning at evening and all seems to be good with no out of the ordinary breakouts. This is an amazing base for make up application too!

Priming Moisturizer Rich - $35 USD
Haloscope Highlighter
     - Outer ring for highlighting; uses actual crystals (get it girl!). Inner ring for extra hydration; has vitamin rich oils
     - Lasts the entire day
     - The most luminous highlighter I have ever used
     - 2 shades ( Quartz & Topaz)

Highlighting is all the rage right now, and we are 100% into it. The glowy-er the better. I have never used a stick highlighter than glided on so smoothly while still giving full iridescent pay-off. Because the inner core is made of oils, this helps with the application as well as the lasting power for this product. After a full day of school and running around at work there is still that dewy healthy glow to my cheekbones. It does leave a bit of an oily feel (duh, it's pure vitamin oil) but never does it clog my pores or feel like my skin can't breathe.

When I'm having a minimal make up day, I'll put on some under eye concealer and mascara, and then literally swipe this across my cheeks, do a quick rub in and off I go.

Haloscope (Quartz) - $22 USD
Boy Brow
     - Beeswax for extra hold
     - Thickens and conditions brows
     - 3 shades (Blonde, brown & black)

Honestly, I am undecided on Boy Brow.

Pros: It is an amazing pomade mixture, with the cutest application brush I've ever seen. The brown colour for me is ideal even though I've got darker brows. Because it is more of a waxy substance it does the perfect job and holding everything in place.  Pam also loves it for thickening her brows a bit more and giving them that full definition before applying anything else to her brows

Cons: I'm struggling to get it to create that perfect brow shape I want. It is definitely meant to be more of that natural brow look, which I love, but I haven't mastered how to use this yet. I did find that keeping my brow hairs shorter made it easier to use, but still not loving this as much as I want to. I haven't given up on it yet.
Bow Brow (Brown)- $16 USD

All in all, if you find a way to get your hands on this absolutely amazing brand don't hesitate even for one second. They have a ton of other products (both make up and skin care) that are just as fabulous, and the price you pay for the amount of product that you get is unreal!
