Sometimes Simple Is The Way To Go

Third times the charm right?
I have tried to write this post three times.
I have tried to write this post three times.
Initially I wanted to show you how to make a macrame hanging succulent basket that looks really cool and trendy and a great summertime craft, but it was literally impossible for me to take good enough photos to show you exactly how to make it. So, here we are, with a similar idea but way less complicated to show on camera and it's essentially what I wanted to show you in the first place, just a lot simpler.
Grab yourself some hemp or rope... you could even use a thicker yarn for this too to be honest. Pretty much anything that is going to be thick enough to hold a small glass bowl filled with dirt and plants.
Using your thumb to shoulder length (about two times), measure out 8 strings!
Now you're going to need to find the centre of the strings, make a loop, and using the smaller piece of string about four inches long, tie it securely around all the strings. This creates the loop where you can hang the succulent basket from.
Before we start anything else, you will need to cut 24 strings that are about four inches long. These are going to be used as 'ties' to make the actual basket portion. I chose to use a different coloured string a) to make it easier for you guys to see where the string was, and b) to have a bit more of the homemade DIY look to it! Totally up to you.
Once you've got all your shorter strings cut, start tying the bundles of two longer strings together until you are left with eight bundles.
You're going to do the same thing again, but this time taking two bundles and tying their strings together. You can stop here and you'll have a perfectly sturdy basket, but I did this step a third time just to get a bit more of the basket-y feel!
Now that you've got knotted all the knots necessary, you're going to finish off with one more giant knot that's going to become the base for the bowl to rest. Just take all of the string, and knot it! Simple as that.
How do you hang it?
For the hook, you can go to pretty much and craft store or home decor place and grab one. If you have nothing to hang it from, like a rod or hook, you should grab an eye hook that can screw into the ceiling or surface you need and let the hook hang from there.
Where do I get a succulent bowl from?
So easy!
You can either go to any green house and grab one, or you can be extra crafty and make your own! All you need is a clear bowl, dirt, and succulents. Done and done!
Once you've sorted everything out, all you need to do is grab the succulent bowl, part the strings open and pop it in there!
Although this is not what I initially had in mind for this, sometimes the easier more simple things turn out way better than you'd expect, and that's totally fine.
